    • Dina's Proposal
"Having observed that PDS students are sometimes unsure of what to do during the summer, and also having observed that many students and teachers have experience with or knowledge of summer activities, I propose that Council create a Summer Opportunities Database. This would both help students find an activity and allow those who have participated in activities which may be of interest to others to share their experiences. Often a student may be more likely to trust the opinion of a fellow member of the PDS community over that of someone whom they have never met. This database would be online (Mr. Bailey has said that it would be technologically feasible), and any student or teacher would be able to write a review detailing their thoughts on an activity. Students or teachers would also be able to read reviews written by others. The activities discussed could cover a wide range of opportunities, including but not limited to overnight programs, day programs, community service opportunities, and jobs. Reviewers writing about programs which demand a significant financial commitment would be encouraged to include information on financial assistance, if available, so that all interested students, regardless of income level, would be able to consider such programs."
      • Gives students peer feedback on summer programs
      • Start a summer program database to give summer program ideas with peer reviews
      • Can have specific sections including overnight, day, community service, financial aid, etc.
      • Georgia: We can make an announcement to give students awareness of this database
      • Talk to clubs and get feedback from them if they have any additions
      • Would be on pds.org, not pdsnet
      • Can include athletics/school athletic tryouts and such
      • Can include summer jobs
      • Mr. Stellato: Location is very important. Is it just for PDS community or for anyone?
      • We can have people edit the peer reviews to make sure all information/spelling is correct
      • Vote: Yea-21, Nay-0
    • Alex's Bookstore Proposal
      • Prices should be posted for all items in the bookstore
      • They should list all text books required for each course as well as ISBNs so we can compare bookstore prices to online prices
      • Georgia: We should start a committee and talk to the business office
      • Class Rep's can talk to their class about this proposal
    • Athletic Assoc. Super Fan T-Shirts
      • We will show the shirt design at an assembly, sell the shirts to people, and then give all of the leftovers to the bookstore where students can buy them using their accounts
      • People can wear these shirts to games of the week and other AA events
      • Lizzy Yellin: Does the money made at the bookstore go back to the AA?
      • Cammie: We need to talk to Dave to figure out how to get the money transferred back to the AA.
    • Community Service Day
      • People would prefer if they had a say in the location
      • They would be more active if they had a choice
      • Brendan Clune: Community Council can choose some strong ideas and give an online poll
      • Georgia: We should give more than 1 option for each class
      • Amy Straus: We could have it so each grade does the same project for all 4 years so they can see their impact over the years
      • Mike Darrar: Give freshman some options to pick in the first couple of days
      • Eric Falcon: Freshman don't have enough time to choose their option
      • Jeremy: A plan has been proposed not to have community service day in the first week of school and possibly more than one a year
    • Summer Reading
      • We should put the choice back in the hands of the students
      • Make a sub-committee to choose to choose some books, then have a school-wide vote on these options
      • Bradley Wilson: How are people supposed to vote on books they've never read?
      • Georgia: After the committee chooses the books, they hold an assembly explaining each book (with personal likes, dislikes, opinions, as well as a summary)
      • Harvey: Do only students get to choose? or can faculty choose too?
      • Georgia: Committee will have both students and faculty members, and both can vote too
      • We will post to the Community Council and Announcements conferences for who wants to be on this committee
